Kaduna Police Rescue Three After 40 Days in Captivity, Arrest Five Suspects
The Kaduna State Police command has rescued three kidnap victims after 40 days in captivity and arrested five suspects.
The Kaduna State Police command has successfully rescued three kidnap victims after spending 40 days in captivity. The command's spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the police acted on intelligence and stormed a suspected bandits' hideout. Upon sighting the advancing security operatives, the bandits fled the scene, abandoning the victims, who were subsequently rescued unharmed.
Hassan identified the rescued victims as Ekechikwu Omale, Ummi Salisu of Kudan Local Government Area, and Pastor Daniel Tanko Bawa of Tufa Village, Niger State. After their rescue, the victims were taken to the Police Clinic for medical examination and treatment before being reunited with their families.
In the course of the investigation, five suspected informants linked to the kidnapping syndicate were arrested. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects allegedly provided information and logistical support to the kidnappers. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime. Hassan added that the investigation is ongoing with a view to apprehending other members of the criminal network and bringing all those involved to justice.
