Besiktas Appoints Vincenzo Italiano as New Head Coach

Italian manager Vincenzo Italiano has been appointed coach of Turkish club Besiktas on a contract until the end of the 2027-2028 season.

Vincenzo Italiano has been appointed head coach of Turkish Super Lig side Besiktas, the Istanbul-based club announced on Saturday. The 48-year-old Italian will lead the team until the end of the 2027-2028 season, according to a club statement.

Italiano, who previously managed Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Bologna, becomes the 11th manager at Besiktas in the past five years. He follows a list that includes Frenchman Valerien Ismael, Dutchman Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and Norwegian Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Besiktas last won the Turkish league for the 16th time in 2021, but have since struggled to keep pace with rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
